Allen Iverson and Tracy McGrady are going to have a VERZUZ-type highlight battle the Friday of All Star Weekend on the VERZUZ Instagram channel. Iverson smells blood in the water. He’s fired up like it’s Game 7 against the Raptors and Vince Carter decided to graduate:
"I got a hell of a lineup for you, A.I.” 👀

If you’re not familiar with VERZUZ, it started as a musical competition early in the pandemic between legendary artists. Both would go back and forth playing their best songs for fans. There were classic battles, like DMX vs. Snoop Dogg and Fat Joe vs. Ja Rule. Both Iverson and McGrady have to come up with the 10 best highlights of their careers. Obviously I’m taking Allen Iverson in a landslide. The only classic highlight of Tracy McGrady’s I can remember is his 13 points in 33 seconds performance against the Spurs:

Definitely an unforgettable moment, but I could rattle off five great Iverson moments during that 33 seconds:
Crossing Up MJ as a Rookie

The NBA banned Iverson’s crossover because the GOAT getting crossed up was bad for ratings.
The Tyronn Lue Step Over

The Sixers were carried that game and that season on the giant shoulders of a 6’1 Guard from Georgetown.
The Steal By Iverson!

The steal. The call. The celebration with the fans. The old Comcast SportsNet score bug. So much nostalgia in 18 seconds.
Making Antonio Daniels Dance

There are rumors that Antonio Daniels never got up and instead requested they bury him under the Wells Fargo Center at that very spot.
Crazy Shot After The Whistle
Nothing was stopping Allen Iverson from making this shot😂 pic.twitter.com/cogp8TM9vp

This is cold. Iverson could just bring this to the battle, play it 10 times, and win. How many people could do what Iverson did there? Trick question. Zero. This shot will never end up on the stat sheet and it’s a top-10 bucket of Iverson’s career. That’s an automatic “H” for anyone.
I’m excited for this. I wish I didn’t have to tune in to an Instagram Live to watch. Can’t we put this on TNT instead watching Machine Gun Kelly try to dribble on shrooms?
Hopefully, this VERZUZ ages better than the last one did. You think Deshaun Watson asked Michael Vick for his toilet wine recipe yet?
Nothing but respect for the LEGEND 🙏 @deshaunwatson @MichaelVick @verzuzonline pic.twitter.com/YtY2EoUdSy
