Joel Embiid Will Reportedly Get MRI on His Thumb, Expected to Play Game 4

Ramona Shelburne and Woj are reporting that Joel Embiid is feeling discomfort and pain in his thumb, but he’s still expected to play in Game 4 Saturday because he’s an absolute fucking warrior:

Shams says its believed to be a torn ligament in his thumb:

There is fear that Philadelphia 76ers All-NBA star Joel Embiid has a torn ligament in his right thumb, but Embiid has vowed to continue playing through the injury, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. Embiid will rely on his pain tolerance and 76ers‘ medical staff.

Kyle Neubeck tweeted out a picture of the wrap that Embiid had on during practice Friday:

You’d have to drive a cement truck over that right thumb for Joel Embiid to miss Saturday’s game. He told Drake he was coming for a sweep and that’s a promise he’ll keep. This is a guy who played through a torn meniscus and a broken face. I’m not worried about one little thumb, that’s why you have four backup thumbs called fingers. Add Joel to the list of Philadelphia legends with fucked up hands:
