I Don’t Know Whether to Be Happy or Hurt by this Jason Peters Quote

Jason Peters was asked about Eagles fans and I’m confused by the quote:

Jason Peters on Cowboys/Eagles rivalry, dislike between fanbases: “I just know Philly fans are f**kin idiots when it comes to the camaraderie and the Cowboys, any team, really. … They know that. They pride themselves on being nasty. Philly fans are the wildest fans out there.”

In a way it looks like a backhanded compliment. But then I saw “fucking idiots” and “pride themselves on being nasty” and I saw red. I hate when people say Eagles fans pride themselves on being nasty. When I think of nasty I think of a bunch of neanderthals jumping another team’s fan in their stadium:
