Matt Gelb is feeling himself this season. We had “Jamie Apody is a disgrace” back in July and now we have “Please don’t mutter my name in the same breath as Marcus Hayes’.” He’s gone more scorched Earth this season than Vhagar:

Listen I don’t like ‘Ol Vax Ass either. Tenure is a real bitch. But this is not the type of stuck-uppedness I’d expect from THE ATHLETIC (with ads now). Now, the old THE ATHLETIC (where they were going to bleed newspapers dry until they were the last one standing)? I’d expect this comment. But now Matty Gelb is no better than ‘Ol Vax Ass. He might as well be at the Inky. THE ATHLETIC (with ads now) is the Inquirer and the Inquirer is THE ATHLETIC (with ads now). Can’t tell ’em apart anymore.
