You“Hey let’s schedule this for October 23rd, the Eagles aren’t playing that day.”

Your mom, wife, or family: “That’s a great idea.”

But wait – here come the Phillies!

How many angry wives are there in The Delaware Valley today? How many distracted wedding patrons? Pagan was at one last night. A WIP guy scheduled his for this weekend. I’m dragging my 1 year old and 3 year old to a family gathering later today while my wife flies to Southern California. Great timing!

I believe this is a very underrated storyline. Every single Eagles fan scheduled something for this weekend, then got totally railroaded by the Phillies going up 3-1 in the NLCS with a chance to clinch in an afternoon game.

So on and so forth. The examples are numerous. Make sure you charge your phone now because you’re going to need it at the wedding, pumpkin patch, or family gathering. Luckily for me, the Kinkeads are baseball fans, so we’ll probably shove the kids in front of a TV with Bubble Guppies playing on a 5-hour loop and watch Zack Wheeler close it out at home. The silver lining here is that you can go straight from Linvilla Orchards to Frankford and Cottman. Put yourself in the right frame of mind. Pace yourself. We’ll get through this together.
