Astros Right Fielder Hoping to get the Phillies “Out of the Way Early”

I don’t think this qualifies as bulletin board material, but it’s close:
“Hopefully we just win in 4. And make it easy as possible for us. But they are a really good team, so it may go longer. We’re hoping to get it out of the way early. But we’ll see”

He does give the Phillies credit there, but it’s a little smug. He’s talking as if the outcome of the series is already determined, and it’s just a matter of how many games the Astros will require.
So I dunno. I think if Rhys Hoskins said this, people would be calling it a jinx, or saying something like “don’t give these assholes any motivation,” but it’s the World Series, after all. If you need bulletin board material or outside noise to get you going, then that’s a red flag in my mind.
Regardless, the Astros are dirty fuckin’ cheats and don’t have any likeable characters on that team outside of the manager. I’ll throw Hector Neris a bone, but who cares about Verlander or Altuve or any of those guys? I’d pull for Bill Simmons’ Red Sox before I’d ever cheer for Houston. I’d drink out of the Schuylkill before getting behind the Astros.
