Let’s get it back to the NBA with some Ben Simmons news:

Well slap my ass and call me Sally. It does not appear to be working out for Ben in Brooklyn. We are shocked.

There was a stretch in November where he seemed to be figuring it out, a string of six games where he had a couple of double-doubles and showed some glimpses of the player we saw in Philadelphia. Then it began to drop off in December and into January and now he’s on the shelf with a knee issue and averaging a career-low 7.5 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 6.5 assists per game. He’s shooting a career-low 44.6% from the line on a career-low 1.5 FTA per game. He’s playing a career-low 27.3 minutes per game and attempting a career-low 5.9 field goals.

It’s a shame, because there’s an elite athlete in there somewhere. He just doesn’t seem to have the mentality to figure it out, or even want to figure it out. He really needs to go to some shit team in a small market, re-discover the game, and reclaim some sort of identity under the umbrella of obscurity. I can’t believe this is the same guy we watched from 2017 to 2020.
