Markelle Fultz put up 28 points on Sunday night, which is a new career high:

Markelle looks more and more like Tyrone Garland these days. He’s about to add the Southwest Philly Floater to his game.

But anyway, what if I told you Markelle, as of 3/20/23, was the best player out of him, Carson Wentz, Ben Simmons, Mickey Moniak, and Nolan Patrick? It’s not even particularly close. Look at this:

  • Wentz: released by Commanders after being released by Colts after being traded by Eagles
  • Simmons: traded to Brooklyn, no longer with Klutch, looks like a shell of who he used to be
  • Moniak: traded to the Angels for a one-year Noah Syndergaard rental
  • Patrick: traded to Nashville, flipped to Vegas, injured, has only played 25 games for the Knights

It’s incredible.

Not sure if anyone’s actually paying attention, but Markelle is looking like the guy we thought we were getting from Washington. He’s averaging 17.6 points in March on 54.2% shooting. He’s not taking a lot of threes, but he’s 82.9% from the foul line, which is funny when you go back and think about the double clutch episodes we witnessed in Philly. Fultz is finishing strong at the rim and has a little bit of that DeMar DeRozan mid-range going for him. It’s actually been a nice little redemption arc that maybe none of us saw coming.
