Lane Johnson Gets New Contract, Eagles Get 2023 Cap Relief

Would it be an Eagles offseason without Lane Johnson getting a new deal or restructuring an existing deal?
The #Eagles have given RT Lane Johnson a one-year extension through 2026, as @AdamSchefter said. Value of the deal is $33.445 million with $30 million guaranteed, with a source saying Johnson gets a pay bump in each of the next three years plus the added ’26 season.

Garafolo says Johnson was on the Eagles books for $47 million over the next three years. This pushes him to four years, $80 million, with $30 million guaranteed.
It lowers his cap hit for 2023 by about $10 million and gives the Birds front end flexibility, while kicking the can down the road, as Howie Roseman typically does. I think Lane has done more of these team-friendly restructures than anybody on the planet, which means he’s a true, blue collar Philadelphia Eagle. I’ll be dead and buried by the time Lane’s void years run out.
