I had never seen this before, but it’s awesome:

The Sixers lost dropped the series 2-1. Just to triple check, since I was -8 years old at the time, this indeed did happen close to the end of the game and the entire thing is posted on YouTube.

One thing I do recall is that this loss kind of kicked off the run the Sixers would go on over the next 10 or so years. 1976 was when the ABA/NBA merger took place and the team brought in Dr. J, who helped them reach the finals that same year. They went to two more finals before finally getting over the hump and dispatching the Lakers in 1983 with Moses Malone, Mo Cheeks, Andrew Toney, and Marc Iavaroni joining Dr. J in the starting lineup. What a team.
