Nick Sirianni, Cloaked in Darkness, Says Kevin Byard had a “Great Week of Practice”

Nick Sirianni spoke to reporters Friday morning and said this about the addition of safety Kevin Byard:
Q. Kevin Byard, getting him ready in such a short period of time, obviously he’s been playing so you don’t have to worry about a pitch count from that perspective. Do you worry about it just from ramping up a guy in a new system?(John McMullen)
NICK SIRIANNI: Obviously every walk-through, every practice, everything is being evaluated, so we feel really good where he is. I won’t give away any information of how much he’s going to play or anything like that. I just think that’s not — I don’t want to tell the Commanders anything, right?
But we feel like he’s had a great week of practice. Everything is considered. Like you said, he’s been playing so it’s different than Julio (Jones) as far as the pitch count, as far as health-wise goes.
But man, he’s a pro, and he’s worked really hard this week, so we’re confident in him. We’ll see how much he plays in this football game.
For what it’s worth, Reed Blankenship has been a full participant in practice. The Eagles started Sydney Brown alongside Terrell Edmunds on Sunday night while Justin Evans remains on IR. Edmunds was shipped to Tennessee in the Byard deal, so obviously he’s out of the picture now.
But yeah, Byard is a pro. He’s a “football guy,” the type of person you could probably plug in there with little instruction and he’ll give you positive results. Throw him in there and he’ll make some plays.
RE: the headline, Sirianni showed up to his presser wearing a black sweatshirt and black visor, and the lighting in the auditorium shrouded his eyes completely. He looked like the meme of evil Kermit the Frog:
Kevin has been writing about Philadelphia sports since 2009. He spent seven years in the CBS 3 sports department and started with the Union during the team's 2010 inaugural season. He went to the academic powerhouses of Boyertown High School and West Virginia University. email - k.kinkead@sportradar.com
