We’re Trying to Figure Out the James Harden Mention in the New Drake Song

Drake released a new song called “The Shoe Fits,” and Terry is out here doing the Lord’s work pulling the lyrics:

Is this a diss? We’re not sure! Sounds like he’s talking through the perspective of a guy who lost his girl to James Harden. The other idea is that he’s referring to Harden as a bench player. Then you’ve got the line about “Sniper,” aka 13. Harden was #13 in Houston. Kevin Durant is “easymoneysniper” on IG. Oh my God what does it mean! For some context, the song was written this month, when Harden was struggling out of the gates as a Clipper. His first LA game was a loss at Madison Square Garden.
Never have I felt older and whiter. We’re gonna need some help figuring this one out. Here’s the lyric in the song:

Kevin has been writing about Philadelphia sports since 2009. He spent seven years in the CBS 3 sports department and started with the Union during the team's 2010 inaugural season. He went to the academic powerhouses of Boyertown High School and West Virginia University. email - k.kinkead@sportradar.com
