Hot take a-coming! Adam Schefter was on 97.5 the Fanatic Wednesday morning and said Nick Sirianni’s job is safe, and that you should expect the changes coming at the assistant level:
Nick Sirianni’s job is safe, according to @AdamSchefter.
“They’ve gone to the playoffs in three of three years. You’re not firing a coach that has gone to the playoffs every year he’s coached that team.”

“I don’t think they are firing Sirianni. I do think there will be changes – his assistants. We’ve already begun to see them. There will be more. They aren’t going to stand pat, that’s not the way they do things.”

I know Schefty isn’t wrong a lot and he’s got the number for Howie’s bat phone.
But he’s been duped before:
Eagles’ HC Doug Pederson is expected to return to Philadelphia next season, though he does have a meeting scheduled for Tuesday with team owner Jeffrey Lurie to discuss plans for the 2021 season, per @mortreport and me.https://t.co/x7cig9aRAx

Think about it: Why keep Nick Sirianni around after this year? He doesn’t call plays, he doesn’t pick the players, there’s locker room drama spilling out publicly, and he was forced to fire his DC. I love Nick, but he’s more like a babysitter than a head coach. Howie hired a guy who he knew wouldn’t question his decision making or put him back in the broom closet and then gave him the keys to one of the best teams in franchise history. It’s crazy to think you’d fire a coach who has made the playoffs three straight years, but it was also crazy to think they’d fire the Super Bowl-winning coach after two. Maybe the shelf life for Philly coaches is three years now. I mean Nick looks like shit:

Doug looked like a ghost butler at the end:
Not to mention, there are some good candidates that will be available this spring. The Eagles job will easily be the most sought after. This Eagles team still has good bones in place and could hire a guy like Ben Johnson, who developed Jared Goff and is liked by players. A nice middle-ground between Doug and Nick is probably the sweet spot. Until three years from now, when Ben comes to the podium looking like the crypt keeper and his head is the next one on the spike.
