Is Zach Ertz Technically “Ring Chasing” if the Lions’ TE2 is Injured?

Never thought I’d live to see the day that someone signed with Detroit ahead of the NFC title game, but with TE2 Brock Wright injured, here you go:
Three-time Pro Bowl TE Zach Ertz is signing with the #Lions, per sources.

Normally we’d laugh if a player did this, if they waited until the NFC Championship Game to sign with a team. But it’s Zach Ertz. He’s allowed to do whatever because he already has a ring and was a stud in Super Bowl 52. Seven catches for 67 yards and a touchdown in that game. A clutch 4th and 1 conversion on what ended up being the game-winning touchdown drive. As far as I’m concerned, Zach Ertz can do anything he wants. He can get “Dallas Cowboys” tattooed on his forehead and it would change nothing. If he gets a ring with the Lions while playing a grand total of two snaps, it changes absolutely nothing. Who else are we cheering for anyway? The 49ers? The Chiefs? The Ravens?
