First thought – I wish the Lawnie Pass was around 10 years ago. I would have been at the Tweeter Center three times a week.
Am I missing something, or is this a really good deal? $239 and you get lawn access to every Camden show? I checked the website and there are currently no exclusions. None at all. So you could use the Lawnie Pass to see Dave Matthews for his 7 millionth show at the E-Centre. I think Dave has played in Camden every summer for 30 years straight, but I could be wrong. There’s this one guy on Twitter who has been to every Dave show in Camden, so he would know.
(edit – DMB guy came through) –
Hi. It’s me. I’m the DMB problem. It’s me. Shows 48 and 49 for the record. Just your friendly DMB editor.

But yeah, the lineup for this summer is… decent, for now. There will be more shows announced, but here’s what we’re working with:
- Hozier
- Chris Stapleton
- Lainey Wilson (XTU Anniversary Show)
- something or someone called “Hardy”
- Alanis Morissette
- Third Eye Blind and Yellowcard
- Kidz Bop
- Dave Matthews (two shows)
- Train and REO Speedwagon
- Foreigner and Styx
- Earth Wind and Fire with Chicago
- Doobie Brothers
- 30 Seconds to Mars
- Hootie and the Blowfish
- Avril Lavigne
- Rob Zombie and Alice Cooper
There are some worthy shows in there. Foreigner and Styx will be a BANGER. Earth Wind and Fire as well. Check out their bass player, he’s awesome. And the country acts will pull numbers. That’s actually an underrated storyline in these parts. Country music is BIG and XTU does very well.
Now here’s the thing –
I’m not sure I’d pay money to go see Train and REO Speedwagon, but if I have this pass and nothing better to do, I’m sitting on the lawn for the chance to hear “Roll with the Changes” live. Same with Alanis Morissette and The Doobie Brothers. So the incentive here is that you get people into shows they otherwise wouldn’t attend, and then maybe they spend another $60 on two beers, or whatever the running cost is now.
I looked at some of the individual ticket prices for these shows, and the lawn averages $40 to $80. So let’s say $60 for the sake of the exercise. If you multiply by four, that’s your $240 right there. If you get the lawnie pass, you’d need to go to 4-5 gigs to get your money’s worth. That’s not a bad deal.
(Live Nation did not pay us to write this, but maybe we should have asked them to throw some $$$ our way)
