Eagles Kick the Can Down the Road in Foreshadowing of a Haason Reddick Trade

Jeremy Fowler reported Monday night that the Eagles are moving Haason Reddick’s $1 million roster bonus to April 1st to give them more time to work out a trade:
The #Eagles are moving Haason Riddick’s $1M roster bonus, originally due March 15, to April 1, per sources.
This in theory buys Philly time for a potential trade before having to pay the money.

HE GONE!
Jeff McLane mentioned on 97.5 the Fanatic that the two are still far apart on a deal:
The Birds and Haason Reddick are still far apart on a deal, says @Jeff_McLane.
“Haason is pretty much adamant that he wants to receive a certain amount in terms of a new deal for what he believes he is worth on the open market, and the Eagles aren’t really willing to pay that.” pic.twitter.com/zbRb72netX

I hate this move. Maybe I have my cherry & white-colored glasses on, but I love Haason Reddick. Back-to-back double-digit sack seasons and last year’s might’ve been more impressive than the year before with what he had to deal with on defense. I’ll be uneasy if we go into next season with Bryce Huff and Josh Sweat as our primary defensive ends. Huff has had one good season under his belt playing only a handful of snaps and Sweat disappeared too much throughout last season. I’m not even confident the return is going to be that good either. If it was a trade it would’ve been done by now. Brian Burns returned a second and he’s five years younger.
Some good news is the Bryce Huff contract was a Howie special. Sir Mix-a-lot would be proud. Little in the middle but it got much back:
Bryce Huff cap hits on 3-year deal w/$33m guaranteed:
Cap Hits:
2024: $4.35m
2025: $8.11m
2026: $12.93mThe contract has dummy years at the end to stretch out the bonuses, making the cap hits lower #Eagles
