Here’s an amazing story about Jalen Hurts paying for the funeral of a football player from his area who was murdered last week at a party:
Just learned that #Eagles QB Jalen Hurts read about the passing of this football player from a rival high school and decided to pay for his funeral expenses. Heartwarming end to a gut-wrenching story. https://t.co/9LyHw8BI2B

This dude is amazing. How can you not love Jalen Hurts? A bitter high school rivalry pales in comparison to a kid who was on his way to play college football having his life cut short. Helping out a family going through an unimaginable tragedy and not looking for any press in today’s Internet age doesn’t happen often.
Here’s more from Joe Brandt at CBS3:
Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has stepped up to help out a family in his hometown dealing with unimaginable loss. According to a report from the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Hurts paid for the funeral of slain Texas high school football player Jarvon Coles.
Coles, 18, was shot and killed at a party in Humble, Texas outside Houston on March 9, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
According to his profile on HUDL, Coles played strong safety and outside linebacker for the North Shore Senior High School football team – one that’s got a long history in Houston football against Hurts’ nearby alma mater, Channelview High School, according to local media reports.
I’m proud to call this dude QB1. I hope he gets that Super Bowl and is immortalized in this city forever. He’d become the most beloved QB this town has ever seen.
