Only Temple could lose a football game that way. Instead of kicking the field goal to play for overtime, you say “fuck it let’s ride,” only to try the Eagles’ tush push and fumble the ball for a 99-yard scoop and score. Example #47 of why only the Eagles should run the shove. No one else should run it. And what’s funny is that we did the joke post a couple of weeks ago about DeVonta Smith standing behind Jalen Hurts and not doing anything at all, but you see now in this instance why someone being there to land on a fumble is important:
Not that it would have mattered in this instance, since the clock was hitting zero, but in a similar situation that guy might have been able to recover or make the tackle, and you’re turning it over on downs instead of giving up a touchdown. But yeah, that’s Temple football for you. They saw the Phillies’ choke job and said “hold my beer.” No one is allowed to have a more pathetic loss on any given day than the Temple football Owls.
