Well this sucks:

Juan Soto is returning to the NL East and will be a Met until 2040, signing the largest contract in the history of professional sports. Steve Cohen wins the bidding war. A race that once started around $550M officially ends with the Mets landing the superstar for $765M, which is $51M per season.

The Yankees reportedly offered $760 million:

The Yankees are the biggest joke in all of Major League Baseball. They hadn’t been to the World Series since 2009. You send a massive haul to the Padres for Juan Soto, he finishes in the Top 3 of MVP voting in 2024, and you let him walk out of your building and go to your rival that’s 15 minutes down the road.

Hopefully this lights a fire under Dave Dombrowski, John Middleton, and the Phillies front office. The rival that just embarrassed you in the NLDS signed the 2nd best player in the entire sport. The winter meetings are underway. Go get this team to where it needs to be.

We officially have no choice. Juan Soto is the enemy now.

Kinkead: What a kick in the dick. You lose to the Mutts in the NLDS then they go out and add Juan Soto? What in the actual fuck just happened? Steve Cohen is not messing around and I’m officially worried about the Phillies, but go Birds.
