Jose Alvarado’s Latest Instagram Video Shows He’s in Great Shape for 2025

Pitchers and catchers report for the Philadelphia Phillies in two weeks, and Jose Alvarado appears to be in the best shape of his Phillies tenure. Alvarado posted an Instagram video of himself in the gym, and the left-handed reliever appears to have lost some serious weight since the ending of the 2024 season:

Alvarado was listed at 245 pounds last season, which is absolutely not the case now.

This feels like an appropriate time to bring back one of the best interviews of all time, where Alvarado said “he’s fucking fat” on the broadcast during Spring Training.

The Phillies are counting on a bounce back season for Alvarado in 2025 after the loss of Jeff Hoffman and potentially Carlos Estevez as well. Alvarado logged a 4.09 ERA with 63 strikeouts in 2024.
