One of the most anticipated halftime performances in Super Bowl history and I’m pretty sure I just nailed what Kendrick Lamar is going to play. I’ve spent hours researching old Super Bowl halftime shows and listening to Dot’s interviews to come up with what songs Kendrick would be performing on Sunday ever since I discovered Kalshi. What is Kalshi you wonder? You want the convoluted version or the dumbed down version like I needed? I’ll give you the convoluted first: Kalshi is a financial exchange that allows users to trade on yes-or-no questions about future events. Kalshi matches traders with other users who want to make the opposite wager, and the price of a contract is based on the market’s estimate of the event’s probability. The dumbed down version for people like me is that Kalshi is basically every time you said to your buddy I wish I could put money on this shit. Well here you go…Super Bowl halftime props, which companies will run ads during the game, will it rain today, how many Oscars will Wicked win. All stuff that we wish we could wager on, especially if you’re from PA, cause PA suckkkkkkkkkkks when it comes to fun props. So that leaves us with prop pools which are typically left for your buddy to hastily throw together a couple days before the Super Bowl. Best part is it’s legal in all 50 states and you only need to be 18+ to trade. Do you read us in California, Florida, or Texas? You’re in luck. New customers get $10 in bonuses when you sign up and I’m about to give you some winners.

Enough waxing poetic about Kalshi I’ve already took my eye off the ball. I think I’ve spotted an opportunity in the market and I plan to exploit it.

Here are my thoughts in video form, but I’ll go more in-depth below:

These are the songs Kalshi is offering that could wind up on Kendrick’s halftime setlist:

Now on average the halftime show allows for a setlist of 12 songs. I think we can knock off five right away: Not Like Us, tv off, All the Stars, luther, and 30 for 30. Not Like Us is obvious. Tv off is a banger and they’re not doing that halftime show without giving the people a  “MUSTARRRRRRRRRRRRRD” ad lib. The other three are collabs with SZA who he’s about to go on a country-wide stadium tour with and I feel like it would be a smart move to showcase her to the largest audience in Super Bowl history so they can sell all the tickets they can since apparently demand isn’t there currently.

I think we get a mixture of the GNX/rap beef catalogue honestly. Squabble Up could definitely be in play. Euphoria seems to be a big hope amongst Kendrick fans. Maybe he brings out Future and they do Like That, which set this whole summer of hate off. I don’t think the NFL would want him to play Wacced Out Murals since he takes a shot at New Orleans’ own Lil Wayne in the song and the league already apologized for not giving him the halftime show in his home city. Could we get a special Bad Blood performance since Taylor Swift will be there???? Unlikely, but it’s all on the table after she was spotted at the Grammy’s singing “Not Like Us” during Kendrick’s win:

Luckily, Kendrick gave us a look into how he’s putting his set-list together for Sunday:

Stay in the present. I love that. As much as I’d love to here Swimming Pools or Backseat Freestyle we probably won’t get that. He already performed a snippet of m.a.a.d city and Alright at Super Bowl 56 so those are off the table. With that information I have my sights set on DNA and Humble. Those are the best bang for your buck on Kalshi right now. I’m going “No” on those two. Right now $10 on DNA wins you $84 and Humble would win you $61.They were both released in 2017. If you want to stay in the present and tell stories how do you play songs from almost a decade ago.

Instead of snippets of banger after banger we’re usually getting I think we might get 8-10 songs. I think we might get the majority of Not Like Us because it’s a significance as a cultural moment this summer. I mean it’s the most streamed song of the year. This is the final nail in the coffin for Drake and Kendrick knows that. It’s going to be a party in New Orleans. He mentioned in his Apple Music interview that he felt like rap lost it’s grit and it’s bite. I think he’s going to be a lot of GNX, maybe one or two quick ones from good kid, maad city and no commercial bops.
