Let’s get it back to the Flyers:

Life’s only certainties are death, taxes, and Scott Laughton finding himself on the trade block, reportedly. It feels like we’ve been on the Laughts Merry Go Round since the Cretaceous period.

Dreger says that first round picks are in play, with 25% of the NHL showing some interest in Laughton. That reminds me of two years ago, when Frank Seravalli reported that Danny Briere turned down a late first rounder and a future second for Laughts, which seemed like banana land. There was no way he’d get a better off than that, right? It was, of course, someone’s report and not some publicly-confirmed information, so it’s hard to know what’s real and what’s not.

The thing about Laughton is that he’s under control for one more year after this one at $3 million, so he is not a rental and is not going to break anyone’s bank either. Could be a good fit for a contender that needs center depth. If Danny B can bring back a first for Laughts, do it man. If that’s on the table at all, pull the trigger. Then we will all be Flyered up.
