Edmundo Sosa Hot on Aaron Judge’s Heels with a 1.492 OPS

As expected, Edmundo Sosa is third in Major League Baseball with a 1.429 OPS, right behind Aaron Judge:
Sosa has been RAKING in this early part of the season. He has nine hits in 15 at-bats, amounting to four multi-hit games in a row. He’s walked once, struck out three times, ripped four doubles, and knocked in four runs. He’s found home plate in every single game he’s played.
Going back to 2024, Sosa had 13 multi-hit games and 12 doubles, so he’s already more than 20% of the way there in both categories. Similar numbers in 2023 as well, when he had 12 multi-hit games and 15 doubles. He’s added six triples spread out over those two prior seasons.
Needless to say, you can’t take Sosa out of the lineup. The guy is hitting .600 and always plays solid defense. He’s started three games at short and one at second base, which was Wednesday evening. Is it time for an everyday Sosa movement? Maybe, maybe not.. Regardless, the guy is playing lights out and is hotter than Death Valley in July. No doubt he’ll be out there as the Phillies try to sweep on Thursday afternoon. (EDIT – he’s not)
