Bettors are Hammering the 49ers Win Total UNDER, and Think They’ll Miss the Playoffs

Our friends at BetMGM sent over some insights on NFL win total betting, and the public is jumping all over the 49ers under:

You have to be a sick individual if you enjoyed the 49ers downfall last season! In that case, Philadelphia was one big leper colony. Cough, cough.

The Niners started 5-4 but were wracked with injuries and stumbled to a 6-11 finish in the competitive NFC West. Their injury list looked like the “bring out your dead” scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, where they just started throwing anybody they could find on the cart, even if they were still alive. Their football season looked like this recent Philadelphia 76ers basketball season.

The oddsmakers seem to believe that 2024 was a blip, and put a lot of value in the injury situation being what it was, because 10.5 was the highest win total set for that division. The Rams, Cardinals, and Seahawks all opened at 8.5. Note, however, that the Niners’ schedule includes the entirety of the AFC South and NFC South, plus the Giants, Bears, and Browns, so it’s not exactly murderers’ row for them. Deebo Samuel is gone, along with a couple of other pieces, but if they can keep Brock Purdy, Christian McCaffrey, and Trent Williams healthy, that’s probably good enough for 9-10 wins right there. Easier said than done, of course, but this is a tricky one where it’s less about the overall talent and more about keeping everyone on the field. And to address the other side of the ball, they drafted five defensive players in a row to bolster the unit being reassumed by Robert Saleh.

But wait, there’s more! Bettors also think the Niners will fail to miss the playoffs for the second season in a row:
