Philadelphia Flyers Team Leaders, Stats, Standings & Scores
The Philadelphia Flyers are doing something they’ve never done before. They’re rebuilding. That’s been received with a mix bag of feelings as fans watched the team miss the playoffs for the 5th straight year in 2024-2025.
Head coach John Tortorella was fired in late March, the Flyers received the 6th pick in the draft lottery, and then hired alumnus Rick Tocchet to replaced Tortorella after Tocchet decided to leave the Vancouver Canucks. Now they enter the 2025 draft with eight picks in the first three rounds and a salary cap that’s as clean as it’s been in years. GM Danny Briere will carry about $6.7 million in Kevin Hayes, Cam Atkinson, and Scott Laughton dead money, which all comes off the books in a year. Briere has extended Tyson Foerster on a two-year deal and given Noah Cates a four-year extension. Standout rookie Matvei Michkov returns for his sophomore season and a young squad is poised to take a step forward in this “New Era of Orange.”

Injuries
Rasmus Ristolainen was a trade candidate before injury, and has two years remaining at $5.1 million. Ryan Ellis came over in the Nolan Patrick trade and has been wracked by a complex, possibly-career-ending injury ever since, playing just four games in the 2021-2022 season. He has two years remaining on his deal at $6.2 million and has spent most of his Flyers career on LTIR.
Leaders
Michkov led the Flyers with 26 goals in his rookie season. Foerster scored 25 and could be headed for a 30-goal season in 2025-2026. Travis Konecny and Owen Tippett scored 24 and 20 goals, respectively.
