Philadelphia Phillies Standings, Schedule, Injuries & Stats
Expectations are high for the Philadelphia Phillies, who carried Major League Baseball’s fourth-highest payroll into 2025. Only the Dodgers, Yankees, and Mets are spending more money on their rosters.
After a World Series appearance in 2022, the Phillies have fallen back incrementally in each ensuing season. In 2023, they lost a seven-game NLCS to the Arizona Diamondbacks after taking series leads of 2-0 and 3-2. They rebounded to win 95 games in 2024, their highest total since 2011, and first National League East crown in the same time period. That feeling was soured when they lost to the division-rival New York Mets 3-1 in the NLDS.
As such, people are wondering what the Phillies are in 2025. Is this a title contender, or will the downward slide continue?

The biggest addition of 2025 was Marlins pitcher Jesus Luzardo, who was acquired in a trade that sent Starlyn Caba and Emaarion Boyd to Miami. Max Kepler signed a one-year deal to play in the outfield while the Phils lost key relievers Jeff Hoffman and Carlos Estevez.
