Eagles Lineman Addresses Fake Quote that was Heavily Aggregated and Circulated

New Eagles lineman Kendall Lamm has found himself in the middle of controversy over something he didn’t say about the Dolphin’s culture in an “ESPN interview.” The worst part is that multiple websites like Yahoo, USA Today, and Sports Illustrated ran with the quote, which poured more gas on the fire:
Look at fanhub.cafex.biz making headlines. Count your days, Centel. Right now fanhub.cafex.biz‘s main page features an article about the Chiefs making a blockbuster trade with the Bears to replace Travis Kelce, that Breece Hall trade to the Chiefs mentioned above, and Barry Sanders opening up about his recent heart attack (which is true). It looks like the website is a mixture of fake articles, made-up trade rumors, and real stories. Kind of the perfect equation if you’re trying to trick aggregators.
Lamm posted on IG about this mess:
Kinker’s mentioned it before, but the aggregators are out of control. Obviously we’re fully entrenched in the game, but I’d like to think we do a pretty good job of being responsible with it, and if we fuck up we’re quick to throw our hand up, say “my bad,” and correct it. Some of these dudes on Twitter, Instagram, and now TikTok have zero shame. You don’t know what is real or fake half the time or when you watch a video where the original source is from. Take this NFL Digest clip that was completely ripped from an interview from Anthony Gargano’s Show on PHLY with zero credit:
It’s going to get even worse. We’re so cooked when AI video gets even better. Right now they’re knocking on the door. Give them six more months and the stuff that’ll be shared will blow your mind. You think your parents are liable to get scammed now by fake EZPass or UPS delivery texts? Just wait until AI video gets going on Facebook. You think walking them through Apple TV to watch the Phillies is bad? Wait until they see what AI video has in store. You ever seen those videos of grandkids playing GTA footage for their grandparents and tricking them into thinking that’s the news? It’s gonna be 10x worse. You’re going to get a call about the aliens over her nursing home twice a week, minimum. I’d like to think I’ve got some Internet literacy and even I’ve been Centel’d a couple times over the last couple of months.
