Eric Dixon is a Los Angeles Laker

Eric Dixon, who played 47 seasons at Villanova, is a Laker:
It does make you laugh, or cry, that college basketball’s leading scorer did not get drafted, but that’s the world we’re living in in 2025. We’ve been living in this world for some time, actually, because you get midway through the 2nd round and college seniors are battling foreign guys with upside for selection. Thursday night there were draft picks from the Illawarra Hawks, Aquila Basket Trento, Sydney Kings, Cholet Basket, Mega Basket, Brisbane Bullets, and Le Mans Sarthe. A Euro and Australian smattering right there.
Dixon going to LA is cool. Good for him. Gets to learn from LeBron and Luka and study a crop of similarly-sized guys on that roster, like Dorian Finney-Smith and Rui Hachimura. Dixon is one of those players not dissimilar from Johni Broome, who the Sixers drafted. Great college player, one of the best, but concerns about age and athleticism and defense and how it all translates to the NBA. He’s got a good opportunity out there to work on some of those weaknesses and maybe carve out a role giving them some offensive pop off the bench.
