Carter Hart Eligible to Return to NHL in December

The NHL put out a statement on Thursday revealing that the Hockey Canada players acquitted of sexual assault can return to play on December 1st:
So they can sign no earlier than October 15th, and play no earlier than December. In the Flyers’ case, they have three regular season games before the 15th, then the total amount of games between 10/15 and 12/1 is 21. They play the Yinzers on December 1st at home.
It feels like the Carter Hart ship has sailed. Just a hunch, no actual information there. It’s hard to see the Flyers bringing back a guy who ranked 21st and 22nd in goals against average and save percentage during his most recent NHL season, which was 2023-2024. If they do kick the tires on one of the other players, They would get 58 games of out him this year.
Pretty good statement, imo. The NHL notes the players’ acquittal, while saying that their conduct falls short of what’s expected. Ultimately they end up missing about a quarter of this season if they get a second chance from teams. Seems fair.
