Don’t Get Caught Being a “Wrong Game Dickhead” in Front of This Eagles Fan

I met this guy after the Eagles game on Sunday and I honestly felt like I was watching Steve Jobs invent the iPhone. Keep in mind, this was moments after Jordan Davis just blocked a field goal and returned it for a touchdown in one of the greatest moments in Lincoln Financial Field history. Didn’t matter. This guy had one thing on his mind and it was scoping out jerseys on people from teams that weren’t playing in the same state as the Rams or Eagles. You should hope to love something as much as “Wrong Game Dickhead” guy loves his idea:
Is it crazy that I would invest in this business? He’s got a great slogan, great personality, and his social media marketing is there. What else do you need online today? I guess maybe an Instagram profile that isn’t private is a good start.
And listen, I know people are going to immediately think, “Who cares. Wear whatever you want. This guy’s mom probably took Tylenol when she was carrying him.” All valid points. But isn’t it crazy to wake up and know you’re going to the Rams vs. Eagles and decide that now is the perfect time to dust off my Amani Toomer Giants jersey? At that point you’re just trying to be the main character or looking for a fight. There was a guy in full head-to-toe Cowboys gear a couple tailgates down. He ended up being a nice guy, but my initial thought was this guy is just looking for trouble.
I’ll never understand it. I’m not a jersey guy to start, but I think it’s crazy some people will go to a game in a creamsicle Bucs jersey for two teams wearing white and blue. Feels like a “pick me” move if we’re being honest. Eagles fans might be one of the worst fanbases when it comes to “Wrong Game Dickhead,” though I think we deserve some grace for being Super Bowl Champs. And if I really want to get in the weeds I don’t think merch counts:
Now if this guy wore a Kelly Green jersey to MetLife when both teams were wearing red and blue that’s a little egregious. Another caveat – London games don’t count either obviously. The Brits are still in the infant stages of caring about football. Jerseys from any Philly team or local colleges are cool, like a Saquon Barkley Penn State jersey. I even saw one guy wearing a Saquon Giants jersey and I was wondering if we converted him. Turns out I think it was just a peace offering so no one would kick his ass.
WRONG GAME DICKHEEEEEEEAD!
