Val Camillo has a new job with the Women’s Tennis Association:

Feels like it was a hundred years ago at this point, but after Ed Snider died in 2016, there was a vacuum in Comcast leadership. Dave Scott stepped in to fill the role and in 2018 Camillo was hired as President of Business Operations for the Flyers and Wells Fargo Center. Paul Holmgren was President of the hockey side, essentially. He left that role in 2019 to become an advisor and eventually it all led us into the New Era of Orange with Dan Hilferty, Keith Jones, and Danny Briere.

Camillo was later promoted, in September of 2022, to “President and CEO of Comcast-Spectacor Sports Entertainment.” That was a larger role that brought into play the Wings, the Maine Mariners, and other Comcast-Spectacor events. Camilo left the company in July of the following year, five months after Hilferty’s hiring and two months after Jones’ hiring.

That’s the CliffsNotes. Outside of the pandemic-ruined 2019-2020 season, it was a forgettable era of Flyers hockey.
