This Cowboys fan is going viral because he spread his cousin’s ashes on the Cowboys field, but not the actual Cowboys field like it says in the tweet:

The real Cowboys field sits inside of AT&T Stadium. This is the field in “The Star,” which is outside Cowboys HQ. A field open to the public surrounded by a bunch of shops and restaurants so that fans can watch games and throw the pigskin around. The red X is the Cowboys practice facility and the yellow X is where this fan spread his cousin’s ashes:

Now that we’ve established that, this is a wild move, right? What a slap in the face to your dead cousin. His will definitely said he wanted his ashes spread on a field where CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott play, not a field where people in CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott jerseys play. There will be more 10 year olds with ashes on their face here than a Wednesday in Lent. Imagine if your dying wish as an Eagles fan was to have your ashes spread out in the Linc and your cousin instead did it on the old turf outside of Stateside Live! instead. I would haunt him for the rest of his life if he pulled that shit.

I bet this Cowboys fan wishes he could’ve honored his cousin this way, but that would require getting past the Divisional Round:

I’ll never get wanting your ashes spread at a stadium. Put my shit in a rocket and launch me into outer space. I want to fly around in the cosmos without a 10 mg edible for once. Because in 20 years my ashes are going to be under a Holiday Inn the way these NFL teams are building new stadiums so quickly. But I do know one thing and that’s don’t question the craziness of NFL fans. They’re a rare breed. I know a couple uncles that would probably want this same thing done at the Linc, via Gina Clark at WTSP.com:

Philadelphia, PA – The Eagles season is going down in flames but that’s not the reason a man was busted trying to spread ashes on the field Sunday. Christopher Noteboom was arrested during the game at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field. He told police he wanted to spread the ashes of his dead mother, who was a loyal Eagles fan. Noteboom tells a Philly TV station (WPVI) that his mother now will always be a part of the Eagles. Noteboom has been charged with defiant trespass and has a hearing scheduled next month. A team spokeswoman says the Eagles have gotten requests to spread ashes in the past, but it’s never allowed.
