Somehow the Hard Knocks Angle of A.J. Brown and the Eagles Fan is Even More Cringe

We wrote about this cringey interaction between an Eagles fan and A.J. Brown as he was bringing a child some hot chocolate on Sunday. Somehow the Hard Knocks angle is even more cringey:

“AJ sign this (his?) card? After the game come sign this (his?) card!”

Not a please or a thank you in sight. Just a grown-ass man begging another grown-ass man to sign a piece of cardboard. I called this perfectly. I knew the interaction would make my skin crawl and that’s why the Eagles’ social team added an audio layer over the original clip:

Is it really the time to add an autograph to your card collection or an eBay store? Jesus. Credit to the social team trying to edit around this buffoon and add in an audio track so we didn’t have to hear the guy beg for a John Hancock. I know they weren’t trying to make the guy the focal point of a great deed from Brown, but it’s all I can watch. Each time I replay it back it makes my skin crawl and I break into a hot sweat. This guy screams autograph hound.

I know I’m picking on this guy, but I don’t care because we need more shame in this country. Everyone has just lost their mind when it comes to normal, everyday interactions with people in society. Maybe it was the pandemic or maybe it’s the constant brain rot that comes out of our phones. All I know this country lacks shame and we need to bring some back. That and common sense. A.J. Brown is making a core memory for your son and the first thing you think to do do is lose your mind and stick some cards and a sharpie in his face. What are we doing here? Have some shame:

Do you think this guy thought of this interaction once as he was sitting in traffic to get home? Absolutely not. He probably turned his focus to the next player that got to within 10 feet of their seats.
