Good story idea here from Sully:

Yes, it is time to consider this. Who is the worst Kevin in Philly sports history? There are plenty of options.

The candidates:

Kevin Hayes

He was good during his first Flyers season, led the team in playoff points, then didn’t do much in the ensuing three years. He possibly had his fingerprints all over the Cutter Gauthier situation, if you believe Anthony SanFilippo from the Snow the Goalie program.

Hayes denied that he had anything to do with Quitter Gauthier quitting on the Flyers, leaving us to choose sides between Ant and his sources vs. a bunch of Boston rats.

Kevin Long

Phillies hitting coach. Problem is, the Phillies don’t hit in the playoffs.

They are 2-6 in the postseason going back to 2024 with a sub-.300 on-base percentage and an identical 38 strikeouts in each four-game series. Combined, it’s a .199/.297/.331 slash line with a .628 OPS against the Mets and Dodgers.

Kevin Allen

The Eagles’ 1st round pick in the 1985 draft, he was released in 1986. He later went to jail on rape charges. Buddy Ryan famously hated this guy.

Kevin Kolb

The Birds used a second round pick on Kolb, who went on to start seven games, throwing for 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He retired in 2014 after suffering from concussions throughout his career.

Kevin Durant

K.D. is a part-owner of the Philadelphia Union, but he may not be aware of this. Not once has he recruited a big name player, who the team probably wouldn’t sign anyway, if we’re being honest. Durant did, however, once fight with a Union fan on Twitter.

Kevin Curtis

Dude looked like Reggie Wayne in year #1 and then looked like James Thrash in year #2. That’s partly because of a sports hernia injury, and partly because the Eagles drafted a receiver named “Desean Jackson.” Curtis had that one ridiculous game while wearing the terrible throwback uniforms.

Kevin Loughery

Had the unfortunate distinction of both playing for AND coaching the 1972-73 Sixers, who went 9-73.

Kevin Gross

He wasn’t a bad pitcher, but he finds himself on the list because he was suspended for scuffing baseballs with sandpaper in his glove.

Kevin Millwood

This guy threw a no-hitter at the Vet, then his ERA went up to 4.85 the following season and he left for Cleveland in free agency.

Kevin Sefcik

A utility player on those dreck Phillies teams of the mid and late-90s.

Kevin Byard

Did pretty much nothing for the Eagles in 2023, but the team was falling apart entirely at that point. Now he’s an All-Pro with the Bears in 2025, so go figure.

Kevin Connauton

A legendary Philadelphia Flyer, claimed off waivers by Chuck Fletcher and went on to post three points in 26 games. Finished his career in the AHL.

Kevin Kinkead

Not funny, writes stupid blogs about stupid topics. A total hack.

honorable mention: Kevin Cooney, Kevin Kratz, Kevin Stevens, Kevin Pritchard, Kevin Stocker perhaps, maybe Kevin Ollie but I can’t remember much about his time with the Sixers, I think he played defense and took like 2 shots per game
