Finally:

The six-game losing streak is over, and when we say the Owls needed to stop the bleeding, it was like a sanguine river of blood pouring from a gaping and infected wound. They hadn’t won a game since February 7th and were in danger of missing the conference tournament entirely.

That’s because the American only seeds the top 10 teams. If the Owls get smoked by 24-6 Tulsa in the regular season finale, they go into the tournament at 16-15, 8-10 in conference play, and would have to win five games in five days to go dancing. Not gonna happen, but credit where it’s due – they looked good on Thursday night. They shot 53% from the floor and hit 13 of 26 three pointers. Aiden Tobiason with another 20 point game and they got to the line 18 times while shooting the lights out.

Will the Owls make some noise in Birmingham? It’s unlikely, but you never know. THIS IS MARCH!
