Flyers at the Trade Deadline: Nic Deslauriers Out, Luke Glendening In
Couple of small moves for the Flyers:
Good landing sport for Deslauriers, who was a bit part fourth liner up here and didn’t play very much. Frank Seravalli says the return is for a “late round conditional pick,” so better than nothing, if it even conveys. (EDIT it’s a conditional 7th) Chuck Fletcher gave Deslauriers four years, $7 million and he’s hitting free agency this offseason. At least we’ll always have his 2024 fight against Matt Rempe. Talk about a slobberknocker!
As for Glendening, he’s a 36-year-old fourth line center and out of contract at the end of the year. Glue guy, face-off winner, penalty killer, defensive bottom-six forward, etc. He’s been around a long time and he doesn’t score goals, 83 in his career over 916 games. I guess he’s 4C for the last 20 games or so.
Next up? Hopefully news of a Risto trade.
