Sixers injury update:

“An MRI today (Wednesday) revealed that Kelly Oubre Jr. suffered a sprain of the lateral collateral ligament in his left elbow. The initial injury occurred during last night’s game against Memphis. Oubre Jr. will be reevaluated in approximately two weeks. Further updates will be provided as appropriate.”

This is after his best game of the season, by the way. Oubre put up 30 and 12 against the Grizz to propel the short-handed Sixers to a much-needed win.

Trying to get it all straight:

  • Oubre “will be re-evaluated” in about two weeks.
  • Tyrese Maxey “will be re-evaluated” in three weeks.
  • Paul George is serving his 25-game suspension.
  • VJ Edgecombe returned from the back injury on Tuesday night.
  • Joel Embiid was supposed to be re-evaluated after the Memphis game.

The Sixers are in Detroit tonight, where they will lose. Embiid is listed as OUT. So they’ll have one starter available. They are 35-30 and a half-game ahead of the Hawks for the eighth seed. There’s actually just 3.5 games separating the 5-seed Magic and the 10-seed Hornets at this current moment, so it’s really clumpy in the middle. Sixers gotta hold on for dear life.

When this era comes to an end, the epitaph:
