Joel Embiid Has Now Missed the Same Amount of Games that He’s Played
Quick aside here for a Sixers stat:
Embiid has played two games since the All-Star break. He had the shin soreness initially, now it’s an oblique strain suffered in the Miami game that’s kept him out for the last nine. Tyrese Maxey is out for two more weeks, Kelly Oubre is out, and Paul George continues to serve his suspension.
The supporting cast, however, is doing its job. They’ve won 3 of their last 4, beating stinky Memphis, Brooklyn, and Portland teams at home while getting their doors blown off in Detroit. But they’re keeping the Sixers afloat with Denver, Utah, Sacramento, and OKC coming up next. Denver and OKC are going to be losses, but these guys can beat the two worst teams in the Western Conference on the road. Quentin Grimes had 31 against the Blazers and 28 against the Nets and Justin Edwards put up 21 and 19 points in the last two games.
Now, back to your regularly-scheduled programming.
