Mike Francesa Says Current St. John’s Star Transferred from Kansas Because He Was Stuck Behind Joel Embiid

You may have seen this floating around and it’s great. Mike Francesa was doing his podcast the other day and got into St. John’s, which is led in scoring by forward Zuby Ejiofor. He’s a Kansas transfer:

Mike Francesa tells us that Zuby Ejiofor transferred from Kansas to St. John's because he didn't want to sit behind Joel Embiid any longer.

“He left Kansas because of Embiid. And Embiid’s a different player than Zuby. Embiid, when he’s healthy is a guy who can score 50 points in the NBA. He’s a big-time talent. That’s no big deal if Embiid was over him. That happens.”

Francesa is correct in saying that Embiid is a big-time talent, so he got half of it right. Maybe Joel will get on the floor again soon, but he’s dealing with an oblique strain and hasn’t played in March.
