Flyers Defeat Ducks as Quitter Gauthier is Booooooooooooooed Inside of his Own Barn
The Flyers beat the Ducks 3 to 2 in overtime on Wednesday night, or maybe the game finished on Thursday morning, technically.
Quitter Gauthier scored a goal, of course, but he was booooooooed inside of his home arena:
BOOOOOOO! Boo this man! Boooooo!
Gauthier now has 35 goals and 26 assists in 67 games, and is a total stud, so that kind of sucks, but the Flyers own Anaheim and haven’t lost to them since October of 2023, so at least we have that going for us! Anaheim will make the playoffs coming out of a weak Pacific, while the Flyers likely miss the postseason for the sixth straight year while picking 14th in the draft, but hey, at least the team is heading in the right direction, we think…
I don’t want to see anybody going soft with the Gauthier thing. We’ve all moved on and accepted the fact that he’s gonna be a great player and that the Flyers let one get away. But we should still booooooooooooooooooooooo him whenever the Flyers play the Ducks because we need players to hate and we need some jam in the building. We need some juice for the Fly Guys. Plus, Jamie Drysdale has been good this season and the Quitter trade opened the door for Trevor Zegras to come to Philadelphia. So while the Flyers definitely did not win the trade, I don’t think they necessarily “lost” the trade, if that makes sense. It’s not like the guy walked and they got nothing in return. This isn’t like shipping off Bob to the CBJs for some draft picks.
Let’s get Flyered up!
