“I mean honestly I think if like half the shots we missed go in, like, we’re not having this conversation, so… I feel like we got a lot of great looks in the three games we didn’t lose. Some of them just didn’t go in.”

Whoah! Hot take alert. If the Celtics had made more of their shots, they would have won Game 7. And in Games 1, 3, and 4, they got a lot of great looks and hit those shots.

Alas, the Cs missed seven in a row during the fourth quarter on Saturday night. They laid enough bricks to build the facade of a Southie row home. Some were good looks, like Payton Pritchard wide open in the corner, while others were complete garbage heaves.

Give the Sixers credit for correcting their perimeter defense in Game 5, and not overhelping and losing their composure at the arc, but Boston at the same time settled for a lot of junk. They stopped driving and kicking and moving the ball. They were content to step into these bombs without putting any stress on the Sixers at all, while Tyrese Maxey on the other end decided to go right at Neemias Queta on two straight possessions, with the Celtics’ big on five fouls. That was a good snapshot of the series. An apt juxtaposition, if you will.

Live and die by the three? Okay. The Sixers played actual basketball.
