Even WIP’s Hugh Douglas Sick to Death of Jalen Hurts Argument
You know it’s bad when even WIP hosts are sick of talking about Jalen Hurts.
Hurts, arguably the most accomplished quarterback in Philadelphia Eagles history, really brings out a lot of emotions in the average WIP host. There probably hasn’t been one day since 2020 that WIP hasn’t brought up Hurts in some fashion or another…and let’s be honest, over the last few years the majority of conversation regarding Hurts on WIP has been overwhelmingly negative despite, ya know, getting to two Super Bowls and winning one of them.
Is he THE guy? Is he being carried? Did he help win the Super Bowl, or was he dragged there by a super team? Does he deserve a contract extension? Do people really like the guy?
Well, at least for Hugh Douglas, co-host of the WIP Midday Show with Joe Giglio, enough is fucking enough. Around noon today Douglas and Giglio delved yet again into the topic of Hurts, which seemed to raise the ire of the former Philadelphia Eagle, who is firmly in the camp that Hurts should be getting more credit for the Eagles success.
Shoutout to a loyal reader and WIP listener who sent us this clip, but refused credit out of FEAR OF REPRISAL (not really, but they didn’t want to be credited for whatever reason).
HOW COULD YOU NOT BE TIRED OF IT? It’s the same shit day in and day out and we here at Crossing Broad applaud Douglas for getting sick of it and having a real, open moment. It’s the same conversation every single day….how could you not be tired of it by now?
The F-Bomb likely didn’t go out on the air (you can hear the producer saying it was time to take a break at the end of the clip) but did so on the WIP online stream.
I’m tired of just seeing the discussion online, but it has to be MIND NUMBING to discuss the same topic again and again on air for hours at a time. Boy I dunno, do you think Jalen should get a contract extension? Is he a top-10 quarterback? Does he deserve more or less credit for the Eagles success? Should I bash my head against the studio walls to end this once and for all? Who knows?!
Out of curiosity I turned the Midday show on around 1 p.m. and guess what the topic of discussion was….
Jalen Hurts.
Oh well! We had at least a REAL moment of frustration from Douglas who is obviously beyond tired of the same argument and same discussion every single day. Honestly, good for him.
Hey, at least it wasn’t the day after Hurts won the Super Bowl this time….
