The Sixers made their first signing of the offseason on Tuesday night, agreeing to a four-year deal with former Cavaliers forward Dean Wade.

Wade, 29, is a 3-and-D player that gauged interest from “several contenders” around the league, according to Shams. Wade averaged 5.8 points and 4.2 rebounds in 22.3 minutes per game in 2025 with the Cavaliers. His strength is certainly his defense, an area where the Sixers struggled in 2025.

While the Sixers don’t have a ton of financial flexibility this offseason, the move for Wade is a fit that this team has needed for a few years. A 6-foot-9 forward, Wade can guard the perimeter, and really all positions on the court, at a high level. Mike Gansey was familiar with Wade during his tenure in Cleveland, and struck the four year deal to kick off free-agency for the Sixers.

Another move by the Sixers:

The Sixers agreed to a one-year, $3.4M deal with free-agent center Ariel Hukporti from the Knicks, according to Shams.
