The Philadelphia 76ers have acquired Jaylen Brown in a blockbuster trade with the Boston Celtics, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.

Brown, who is entering his 11th season in the NBA, has been floated around in trade negotiations since the Giannis Antetokounmpo rumors started. The 29-year-old is one of the most proven scorers across the entire NBA, averaging 28.7 PPG across the 2025 season for a Celtics team that won 56 games, but was ultimately knocked out by the Sixers in the first round.

Mike Gansey wasted no time since he was announced as the newest President of Basketball Operations for the Sixers. He adds Brown to a starting five with Tyrese Maxey, V.J Edgecombe, and Joel Embiid after losing Kelly Oubre Jr. and Quentin Grimes earlier on Wednesday in free agency.

Paul George will head to his 5th team as he enters his 17th year in the NBA. George, who played two seasons in Philadelphia, averaged 16.7 PPG while dealing with injuries and serving a 25-game suspension in 2025 after violating the NBA’s anti-drug policy.

There have been a couple conflicting reports about what exact draft picks are going back to the Celtics from the 76ers, but I’ll continue to update the story once we learn more. As of now, it seems like the Sixers are keeping the Clippers’ first round picks, which are their most valuable trade assets.
