Brandon Marsh has been announced as the lone Phillies starter for the National League All-Star team.
This will be Marsh’s first All-Star Game appearance, and it is as deserved as anybody. Marsh is finally having his breakout year, slashing .315/.348/.523 with 15 HRs, 46 RBIs, 97 hits, 15 doubles, and a .870 OPS, while carrying a 2.1 WAR.
FOX just finished up announcing the All-Stars live in Philadelphia. Here are the Phillies that were selected:
- Brandon Marsh: NL All-Star Starter
- Bryce Harper: NL All-Star Reserve
- Kyle Schwarber: NL All-Star Reserve
- Cristopher Sanchez
- Jhoan Duran
Alec Bohm and Bryson Stott were not elected after making it to Phase 2 of voting. Zack Wheeler was also not selected as an All-Star.
