Get a load of this guy:

“I just find it really stupid, that’s the thing I thought when they came up with it, that it was stupid and annoying and I didn’t want to do it. It copies a lot of what Iceland were doing, and it’s factually wrong. They didn’t row, they sailed over the Atlantic.”

Maybe I’m blind, but that looks like a pair of oars behind him, which is apropos. He does go on to say that the Vikings rowed up rivers but sailed across the Atlantic, which okay, whatever. The World Cup is across the Atlantic from Norway, so maybe they should do a sailing motion instead of a rowing motion, but it begs the question of “who gives a shit?” It’s not a big deal. You should never let the facts get in the way of a good story anyway, and this rowing celebration is a good story. It’s been one of those fun and viral moments from the tournament. Norway wins a game and all of their fans join the celebration. Ro! Ro! Ro! So what if it sounds like something that Iceland does, or the Minnesota SKOL chant? It’s harmless! It’s cool!

I will not row,” says this guy, Mr. Stodgy. I’d love to get his thoughts on Norsemen:
