Our friends at BetMGM sent over some NFL futures insights.

As it turns out, bettors are hammering the Giants to win more than 7.5 games on New York and New Jersey sports betting apps.

The over is currently holding 91% of the tickets and 94% of the handle at +110. It’s the most-bet over among all 32 NFL teams. The under is priced at -135 and has just 9% of the tickets and 6% of the handle.

This is very curious indeed, because the same exact thing happened last year. The Giants were coming off a 3-14 season and they were the sexy pick to clear their 5.5 win total. Then they went out and put together another terrible season, they were hit with key injuries, and Brian Daboll was fired. They finished 4-13 and we laughed at them.

This year, people seem to really be buying the John Harbaugh angle. The Giants have a competent coach who should take them to the promised land, wherever that is. They have sophomore year Jaxson Dart and Abdul Carter, a healthy Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo, and they have first round picks Arvell Reese and Francis Mauigoa joining the fold. They brought in Isaiah Likely, Tremaine Edmunds, and Darnell Mooney as free agents and Brian Burns coming off a 16.5 sack season. They’ve got some pieces. You can’t be trash forever, unless you are the Jets.

The G-Men will play the following schedule:

  • vs. Cowboys (primetime)
  • at Rams (primetime)
  • vs. Titans
  • vs. Cardinals
  • at Commies
  • vs. Saints
  • at Texans
  • at Eagles
  • vs. Commies (Thursday Night Football)
  • vs. Jag-wires
  • at Colts
  • vs. Niners
  • at Seahawks
  • vs. Browns
  • at Lions
  • at Cowboys
  • vs. Eagles

Dunno. I’m seeing 6-7 wins. They have some tough road games in there. I can honestly see them getting to 7-9 and then coming up to the season finale. The Eagles have already clinched the NFC East for the third year in a row, so the Birds rest the starters, and throw Tanner McKee out there with Tank Bigsby. Then the Giants’ starters win a stinker to finish 8-9 and clear the over. That could happen.

For what it’s worth, the Birds’ win total is over/under 10.5 at BetMGM. 60% of the tickets and handle are on the over. You can get in on the action with a BetMGM bonus code.
