Trevor Zegras has a new contract worth $9.1 million AAV and a new haircut:

Looks good, but the problem is that we can’t do Jeff Spicoli jokes if he has short hair. We can’t riff on the relaxed surfer nature of the Philadelphia Flyers’ highest-paid player. Which, by the way, doesn’t even make sense, because while he played in Anaheim and carries that Southern California vibe, he’s actually from the New York City suburbs and played one season at Boston University, so he is spiritually a northeasterner and honorary Masshole.

Hopefully the hair grows back in time for the season opener, which is somehow nine weeks away. What the hell? We need Zegras getting pucks deep while the locks flow out the back of the helmet. I’m talking Erik Karlsson, Jaromir Jagr, and Al Iafrate. Karlsson used to look like Johnny Depp from Pirates of the Caribbean. Jagr looked like the 5th member of Cinderella. And Iafrate had this interesting skullet in which there was long hair out the back and short hair on the front, but with a bald spot in the middle. It was so sick.

GO FLYERS!
