Jonathan Greenard Clearly Injured Himself in the Pursuit of Greatness
The Jonathan Greenard era is off to a flying start:
Not a serious injury. Nice!
I’d go as far to say this is a good thing. You know why? Because Jonathan Greenard is a DAWG. Clearly he was so amped up to play for a Super Bowl contender that he pushed himself in the weight room. He was trying to set a new personal best (presumably) and injured himself in the pursuit of greatness.
His thought process likely went like this:
“You know, I spent the last two seasons playing for the Vikings, who haven’t been to the Super Bowl since 1976. Our quarterback was J.J. McCarthy. We weren’t winning anything there. I have to step up my game because now I’m playing with Jalen Hurts, Zack Baun, Saquon Barkley, and Jalen Carter. This is a different level. This is a top NFL franchise with top ownership and top fans.”
So he likely put too much weight on the bar and hurt himself. There’s no doubt in my mind that’s what happened.
