Deebo Samuel’s Commie Era Has Come to an End

Deebo is going back to the Niners:
Deebo’s time in the NFC East didn’t amount to much, did it? Everything was nicely lined up for a couple of big games between the Eagles and Commanders at the end of 2025, with the division and playoff seeding on the line. Jalen Hurts vs. Jayden Daniels and all of that.
Instead, we got the Birds clinching on the road against Marcus Mariota in what amounted to definitely not an instant classic. Will Shipley fumbled the opening kickoff and Jake Elliott missed a couple of field goals as the Eagles sleepwalked their way to a 29-18 win. Deebo caught three passes for 35 yards.
And then the Birds put Tanner McKee and the backups out there for the season finale against the Commies, which, well, you know what happened. Everybody had an opinion about whether or not the Eagles should have played for the #2 seed. They went on to lose to a Niners team that got its doors completely blown off by the Seahawks in the Divisional Round.
The whole Deebo-in-the-division storyline amounted to nothing. No big moments to speak of involving the Eagles. He finished his lone Commie season with 72 receptions for 727 yards and five touchdowns. Not a bad individual season, but Washington was derailed by injuries. Maybe we’ll get another Deebo and Eagles storyline in Week 17 this year.
